Republic of Ireland international Steven Reid has ended months of speculation regarding his future by penning a new four-year deal with Blackburn Rovers.
The 25-year-old midfielder had, at one stage, been touted as a possible Manchester United target and, more recently, linked with Tottenham Hotspur.
There were conflicting reports recently suggesting Reid favoured a move back to London where he had played - with Millwall - before joining Rovers in 2003.
But Reid has been persuaded to stay at Ewood Park by manager Mark Hughes and help the club prepare for Uefa Cup competition next season.
Blackburn chairman John Williams is delighted with Reid's decision.
"He made a major impact last term and it is very good news that he is happy to sign a new deal. I am sure it will be warmly welcomed by all Rovers fans."
