Wigan striker Jason Roberts will be available for the Carling Cup final after his side's rearranged match against Tottenham was confirmed for February 18th.

An explosive finale to a 1-1 draw with Everton at the JJB Stadium led to Roberts being sent off for catching Toffees captain David Weir in the face with his left elbow.

That came seven minutes from time, and just three minutes after Everton striker Duncan Ferguson saw red for punching Paul Scharner in the stomach.

With both players facing three-game suspensions for violent conduct, there was the prospect Roberts would miss the first major final in Wigan's history when they face Manchester United at the Millennium Stadium on February 26th.

But a Premiership match with Spurs at White Hart Lane that was due to be played that weekend will be played eight days earlier.

It means Wigan's 13-goal leading scorer will complete his suspension against Martin Jol's team, as well as missing matches at Bolton on Saturday, and at home to Liverpool a week later.
