Chelsea are facing further frustration in their protracted attempts to lure Robinho to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are facing further frustration in their protracted attempts to lure Robinho to Stamford Bridge.

The Real Madrid playmaker has been a transfer target for the Blues all summer, although an agreement between the respective clubs still seems some way off.

The Primera Liga champions are demanding around €44million for the Brazil international, although Chelsea are only prepared to pay €31.5m.

Robinho is understood to be disappointed that his current employers are scuppering his opportunity to accept a new challenge in England.

However, the 24-year-old's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, has refused to give up hope that a compromise may yet be reached.

"I will try and do everything possible to get this resolved," he said in the Daily Star.

"It is what Chelsea and Peter Kenyon want but there is no way they will pay what Madrid want."

Robinho is convinced that Real are trying to price him out of the market after failing to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Spain this summer.

"The money Madrid are asking for is exaggerated in today's market," he said.
