Romania international Gabriel Tamas is a Celtic target and the defender is keen to make the move to Glasgow, according to his agent.
The 24-year-old Auxerre player has reportedly been targeted by the Scottish champions after an impressive 2008 European Championships.
Agent Cristian Morosan has revealed the interest and says his client would welcome a move to Scotland if both clubs could agree a fee.
"Celtic approached me at the end of the European Championships to tell me they were interested in signing Gabriel," said Morosan. "They aren't the only club who want him. He has options in England Spain and Romania.
"But a move to Celtic certainly holds strong appeal to Gabriel.
"He knows they are a massive club who play in the Champions League every year.
"They have a vast support and on a sporting level would be a big step up for Gabriel.
"He wants to leave Auxerre this summer. He has made that clear," he added in the Scottish Sun.
"It's not down to Gabriel or me though. Right now we have to wait to see if Celtic can reach an agreement with Auxerre.
"If that happens we will be more than happy to sit down with Celtic and try to make this move work."
