Soccer:England striker Wayne Rooney will miss the team's final World Cup qualifier against Belarus due to a calf injury while Emile Heskey has admitted he will consider leaving Aston Villa in January in a bid to secure his place at next summer's World Cup.

Rooney has left the England squad after suffering the injury during the 1-0 defeat in Ukraine on Saturday.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was also assessed by medical staff but remains in Fabio Capello's squad for the game against Belarus at Wembley on Wednesday.

Rooney's Manchester United team mate and goalkeeper Ben Foster has been called up in place of Robert Green, who is suspended after being was sent off against Ukraine.

Foster has recovered from the bruised ribs which kept him out of training until the end of last week.

England have already qualified for next year's World Cup finals.

Heskey, who only joined Villa from Wigan at the start of the year, has started just one Premier League match this season.

He played for England in their defeat in Ukraine, though, and currently appears to be Capello's favoured partner for Wayne Rooney.

But the former Liverpool forward is aware his lack of games for his club could harm his chances of getting picked in the squad for South Africa.

"I'm happy to be playing for England and, obviously, not playing at club level is difficult," he said. "It's something I will have to look at when I get back and try to address it."

Asked whether that meant he would seek a move in the winter transfer window, Heskey said: "That's what I mean. I will have to sit down and think about my next move. I don't know whether I can get a World Cup place if I'm not playing for Villa.

"The manager (Capello) hasn't really spoken to me about it. I just have to keep performing well in training and keep going. But you always wonder about those kind of things, whether it will affect my chances. I will just have to try to address it when the time is right."
