Round-up: Shamrock Rovers missed a golden opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Drogheda United at Tolka Park tonight after they lost to bottom of the table Longford Town in injury time.
The sting in the tail of the visitors' late winner in the 92nd minute came as it was former Rovers striker Dave Mooney who fired home the winner.
Deep in a relegation battle Longford have clearly decided to come out fighting of late for they also had the measure of St Patrick's Athletic last week.
That said, the fight goes on for they still find themselves one point adrift of Waterford United, who lost 4-1 to St Pat's this evening, at the bottom of the pile.
As for Rovers they are tied second with St Pat's on 42 points, seven adrift of the leaders, who don't play until Monday evening.
Elsewhere Bohemians travelled to the Carlisle Grounds where they emerged as convincing 3-0 winners over home side Bray Wanderers. In the evening's other Premier Division game Cork City and Galway United played-out a 0-0 draw at Turner's Cross.
