Saha determined to keep up the chase

Louis Saha is revelling in his part in Manchester United's bid to snatch the title

Louis Saha is revelling in his part in Manchester United's bid to snatch the title. Saha's best spell of form since signing from Fulham has helped take United to within seven points of Chelsea.

"I am very happy because I have had so many injuries. I don't want to look back anymore," Saha told reporters ahead of tomorrow's clash with Arsenal.

"The team is playing well and I am involved in that. I am happy because of the results and it's good for the confidence of a player when you are on a good run.

"Everyone has a key role, even when I was on the bench, and I don't see myself as more important than anyone. I am very happy with the run I am having. I am playing games and that's why I came to Manchester United."

Saha, 27, has scored 14 goals in a season which did not start for him until the end of November because of a knee injury.

His partnership with Wayne Rooney has been so impressive that manager Alex Ferguson has been prepared to leave leading scorer Ruud Van Nistelrooy out of his starting line-up in recent games.

But Saha believes he still to produce his best at Old Trafford.

"I think I can improve. I am working hard to improve and let's see how good I can be," he said.

Saha has contributed to eight successive league wins for United, which has seen them exert previously unfelt pressure on Chelsea.

"The way they see us playing and the quality we have to win our games, they know they have to perform," Saha added.    "We know we have a difficult run as well with some big teams coming up, so the main thing is to keep playing well.

"Confidence is high in our squad and we have to make sure we keep going. We expect a big game on Sunday so we have to keep that confidence up."

United face Champions League semi-finalists Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday with Saha looking to United's much vaunted strikeforce of Rooney, Van Nistelrooy and himself to out-gun the Gunners.

He said: "It's going to be difficult. They are on a good run as well. In the Premiership they have come back and you would expect players like Thierry Henry to make the game difficult for us.

"We have to be aware of that and make sure we score the goals."
