Setanta Cup - Shamrock Rovers 2 Sligo Rovers 1 (Shamrock win 4-1 on aggregate):Shamrock Rovers are into the Setanta Sports Cup final where they will meet Dundalk after completing the job against Sligo Rovers in Tallaght tonight.
The home side took a 2-0 lead into tonight's semi-final second leg and goals from Karl Shepperd and Billy Dennehy ensured a safe passage to the final as they ran out 4-1 winners on aggregate.
There was an early setback after Sligo raced into the lead on four minutes when Eoin Doyle found the back of the net.
It was to prove a false dawn for four minutes later Shepperd levelled on the night to ensure the two-goal aggregate cushion. Dennehy's goal came after 25 minutes and from Michael O'Neill's side were largely in control of their own destiny.
The Tallaght outfit will now take on Dundalk in the final after they eased past Cliftonville 5-2 on aggregate after their semi-final second leg at Oriel Park last night.
In tonight's other domestic action, Athlone Town defeated Finn harps 1-0 in the Division One encounter.
