FAI CUP round-up: AUL Premier A title-winners Sheriff YC were among the teams to progress to the fourth round of the FAI Cup with a 2-1 win over Airtricity League Division One side Salthill Devon. A second half brace from John Rock did the damage for visitors and underdogs, with Paddy Quinlan's 74th minute goal for Salthill a mere consolation.

There will, however, be no other minnows joining them in the next round.

Anthony Flood, Stephen Traynor and Robert Bayly scored for Bohemians in a 3-0 win over Douglas Hall, while Graham Cummins and Vinny Sullivan ensured Cork City eased past Midleton

Cherry Orchard pushed UCD all the way in the second half but could only manage an 80th goal through Alan McNevin after Sean Russell and Stephen Doyle gave The Students a two nil lead at Belfield.
