Barcelona star Silvinho has urged the Spanish giants to do everything they can to land his former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry in the summer.
Henry, currently in the middle of talks over a new long-term contract at Highbury, is being coveted by Real Madrid and Barca.
The Arsenal captain's fine goal in their Champions League win over Madrid on Tuesday night has only increased speculation that Barcelona will make a move for his services.
The Catalan club's vice-president, Ferran Soriano, has already stated they have no intention of pursuing Henry in the short term but Silvinho believes if there is chance to sign him, then Barca should take it.
Silvinho played for Arsenal for two years before losing his place to England left-back Ashley Cole and moving on to Celta Vigo in 2001 for a fee in the region of £3.5million.
"I am sure he would be good signing for us because when you are talking about Thierry Henry, every big team in the world would like to take him to their club," he said.
"He is a really good person and it is good if you have an opportunity to get him to play for Barcelona."
The Brazilian was used as a second-half substitute in the Champions League victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
