Cobh Ramblers 1-3 Sligo Rovers: Sligo Rovers traveled to St Coleman's Park and produced one of their best performances of the season by defeating Cobh Ramblers 3-1.
It was a case of quickly out of the blocks for Rovers as they struck with their opening goal after just three minutes when Sean Doherty found the Ramblers net.
In a pulsating opening Rovers were awarded a penalty five minutes later but Romauld Boco's effort from the spot was saved by James McCarthy.
This didn't stop Rovers pushing forward, and one minute later they doubled their tally through a well worked move before Anto Murphy fired home the visitors second.
Sligo put the game beyond reach 10 minutes after the restart when Boco headed home a third.
Kieran O'Reilly scored his third of the season but it was only a late consolation for the home side on 79 minutes.
Ramblers have been struggling of late and came into the game off three successive defeats and have only scored two goals in 10 games.
In the evening's First Division fixture Athlone Town beat Wexford Youths 3-1.
