Eircom League Round-up: Sligo Rovers romped to a 4-1 win over Finn Harps at the Showgrounds last night as they put the club's off pitch financial problems to one side and extended their unbeaten run to five games. Elsewhere UCD and Cobh Ramblers played out a 1-1 draw at Belfield.
Gavin Peers headed home Sligo's opening goal from close range after just seven minutes before Gary Curran doubled their advantage on 19 minutes.
In the second half Romuald Boco's deflected shot somehow found its way to the Harps net after 53 minutes. Raffaele Cretaro put the icing on the cake for the home side when he netted Rovers' fourth after 74 minutes.
The visitors contested the second half with just 10 men after Stephen Parkinson was sent-off. They did, however, nick a consolation goal at the death through Shaun McGowan.
UCD were saved by goalkeeper Matt Gregg as he equalised in the fourth minute of extra time just as Cobh looked to have secured all three points in this relegation battle.
Ramblers opened the scoring through a Ross Gaynor penalty after 12 minutes. Daryl Kavanagh had been pulled down by Gregg in the area.
Deep into extra time Gregg found his way to the other end of the pitch and latched onto a Derek Doyle free to head the equaliser passed James McCarthy in the Ramblers net.
In the First Division Athlone Town were 3-0 winners over Kildare County.
