Airtricity League round-up:Third-placed Sligo Rovers closed the gap on league leaders Shamrock Rovers to just two points with a 3-0 win in Drogheda this evening.  Eoin Doyle was the hero once more as his brace in this one brought his tally for the week to five.

Rovers hit the front approaching the half-hour when Alan Kirby fed Iarfhlaith Davoren who in turn sent the ball in from the left to Doyle who applied the finish. Richie Ryan rattled the Drogheda bar with a fine effort from twenty-five yards early on in the second half and Sligo made the points safe fifteen minutes from the end when John Dillon headed home Doyle applied the gloss minutes later to seal the deal for the Westerners.

Galway United suffered another home defeat as Bohemians became the latest team to emerge from Terryland Park with all three points. Bohs took control early on and goals from Anto Flood and Keith Buckley were enough for a comfortable 2-0 win that flattered the hosts. Tonight’s final game say Bray strike late to earn a 2-1 win over UCD.
