Soccer: Inter Milan coach Gian Piero Gasperini has confirmed the future of Wesley Sneijder should be decided in the coming week. The Dutch international playmaker has been heavily linked with a €41 million move to Manchester United as they look to find a replacement for the retired Paul Scholes.

Red Devils chief executive David Gill had earlier stoked the fires of a potential deal by claiming United are looking to sign one more 'world-class' player ahead of the deadline.

The player himself and United boss Alex Ferguson are more coy over a potential transfer, with Ferguson vehemently denying last week that a take-it-or-leave-it offer had been made to the 27-year-old.

Sneijder opened the scoring for the Serie A outfit in their 2-1 Italian Super Cup defeat to city rivals AC Milan in Beijing on Saturday and after the game Gasperini confirmed he would soon be holding discussions about the future of the former Ajax and Real Madrid player.

"As for the rumour of Sneijder leaving, we will talk about it next week," said the 53-year-old.

It has also been speculated that Manchester City are attempting to hijack United's move with a late offer.
