Robbie Keane believes Tottenham are "turning the corner" this season as they look to end their jinx against Premiership champions Chelsea.
Martin Jol's side are unbeaten in eight games but history does not favour them on Sunday at White Hart Lane, as Spurs have not beaten Chelsea in the league since 1990.
Keane doubled his tally for the season when he scored in the Uefa Cup against Club Bruges on Thursday, and he is determined to keep Spurs' run going.
The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland striker feels the squad is beginning to gel as new players settle.
He believes they are starting to turn around their slow start to the season when they won just one of their first six Premiership games.
"New players come in and take time to adapt - and us to them - but I feel now we are turning the corner in not being beaten since the Liverpool game and that is full credit to the lads," Keane said.
Newcomers such as Pascal Chimbonda, Didier Zokora, Dimitar Berbatov and Benoit Assou-Ekotto have featured strongly in Spurs' unbeaten run since defeat at Anfield in September.
Jol's signings were brought to build on last season when Spurs just missed out on qualifying for the Champions League, with Keane insisting there was no hangover after failing to secure fourth place.
"We're not going to kid ourselves over the start we had," he said. "Because of what happened last year people expected us to be right up there, but sometimes it doesn't work out like that.
"I wouldn't say it was a hangover at all. Players don't think about last season, we can switch off and look ahead - that is the nature of the game we're in.
"You have to do that, you cannot dwell on things because it is all about the present and the future.
"It just maybe took a little longer to bed down this season than we would have liked but there is still a long way to go. If you get wins you get right back up there."
The victory over Belgian side Bruges came after a goalless draw with Watford last week, which is the type of game Keane believes Spurs should be winning.
"We need to continue with it now, while converting some draws into wins," he said. "It is about that little margin, we need to overcome teams like Watford - they are game we need to be winning.
"We have evolved in many respects though, we have got some home games coming up and we need to kick on from there."
