Uefa Cup:Tottenham Hotspur will welcome Fredi Kanoute back to White Hart Lane after the London club were drawn against defending champions Sevilla in the Uefa Cup quarter-finals.

Kanoute used to ply his trade with Spurs but after a patchy spell moved to Seville where he is now on course for a possible La Liga title and the golden boot.

Spurs will play in Seville first on April 5th and the return leg will be in London a week later.

In the other quarter-finals Newcastle's conquerors AZ Alkmaar have been pitted against Werder Bremen, Bayer Leverkusen against Osasuna and Espanyol versus Benfica.

AZ will be hoping to go one better this year than they did in 2005, when they reached the semi-final.

Should Spurs come through their quarter-final clash, they will take on either Bayer Leverkusen -who knocked Blackburn out of the competition - or Rangers' conquerors Osasuna in the semis.

Those ties will be played on April 20th and May 3rd.

A meeting with Bayer would reunite Tottenham's new striking hero Dimitar Berbatov with his old club.

Berbatov has been a revelation at Spurs this season, most recently against FC Braga in the last round in which he scored twice and set up one for Steed Malbranque at White Hart Lane.

The Bulgarian was a firm fans' favourite in Leverkusen so a return to Germany would be an emotional one for him.

Quarter-final draw
AZ Alkmaar v Werder Bremen
Bayer Leverkusen v Osasuna
Sevilla v Tottenham
Espanyol v Benfica

(Ties to be played April 5th and 12th)

Semi-final draw
Espanyol or Benfica v AZ Alkmaar or Werder Bremen
Bayer Leverkusen or Osasuna v Sevilla or Tottenham

(Ties to be played April 26th and May 3rd)

Final to be held in Glasgow on May 16th.
