Carlos Tevez remains unsure over whether next week's Champions League final will be his last game for Manchester United. The Argentinian's Old Trafford future has been the subject of intense debate, with United chief executive David Gill confirming last weekend that he expects some kind of closure on the Argentina star's two-year loan deal in June.
However, not only is Tevez unsure about whether he will remain with United, he has not been given any indication by Alex Ferguson whether he will be involved against Barcelona in Rome next week.
"Maybe it will be my last game and maybe it won't," he said. "I don't know.
"I am not sure whether I will start next week. It is a decision for the manager.
"I will prepare well. That is all I can do. I would like to play but there are some very good players here, so I will just wait."
Tevez does appear certain to be involved in some capacity as United look to become the first side to successfully defend the European Cup since it was rebranded the Champions League in 1992.
Less likely are the former West Ham star's chances of remaining at Old Trafford, as Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all continue to be linked with the forward, while Real Madrid are among the giant continental clubs keeping an eye on developments.
However, for the next few days, the 25-year-old prefers to concentrate on Barcelona, and in particular the threat posed by countryman Lionel Messi.
Many pundits have already claimed next week's mouth-watering encounter is effectively a shoot-out to decide the best player in the world between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Tevez does not disagree, although he cannot decide.
"Lionel is a great player," said Tevez. "I have not spoken to him but I do know he is looking forward to the final a great deal.
"He is one of the best players in the world and it is going to be difficult for our defenders to stop him.
"In my opinion Messi and Ronaldo are the best players in the world, which is one of the reasons this could be such a great game.
"There is nothing between them. Messi plays with me for Argentina and Ronaldo for Manchester United, so I am very lucky."
