Soccer:Derry City are unlikely to contest Uefa's decision to refuse the club entry to the Europa League next season due to the terms of their liquidation.

The Candystripes are in the final year of a three-year suspension and had worked with the FAI in appealing to Uefa to relax the ruling.

Derry, who finished third in last season’s Premier League, stood to earn a minimum of €110,000 if they were involved in next year’s Europa League.

Shamrock Rovers became the first Irish side to make it through to the group stages of a European competition in last season’s Europa League. The Tallaght club earned well over €1 million for their involvement.
