Valencia president Juan Soler is in confident mood heading into the Champions League clash with Chelsea even though his side are missing a host of players.

Valencia are travelling to London for tomorrow's quarter-final first leg at Stamford Bridge with seven of their first-team squad unavailable due to injury and bans.

Former Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes damaged his shoulder while on duty with Spain last week and he joins fellow internationals Ruben Baraja, Edu and Mario Regueiro on the sidelines.

Young winger Jaime Gavilan is also absent through injury, while defenders Carlos Marchena and David Navarro sit the game out because of the bans imposed by Uefa for their part in the brawl which marred their previous round clash against Inter Milan.

Missing players through injury is nothing new for Valencia this season though, and Soler believes his side still have every chance of making it through to the Champions League semi-finals.

"We are in a good moment despite the injuries and we are looking forward to meeting Chelsea. We are used to watching them on television and these two games are a sign of where we are," he said. "We have high hopes and a great desire to get through this tie."

Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, welcomes back England midfielder Joe Cole into the Chelsea squad. Cole has finally recovered from the stress fracture of the foot which has kept him out of action all season.

But his return is bittersweet with Arjen Robben out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. England left-back Wayne Bridge is fit again after knee surgery.
