Soccer:Tottenham Hotspur's problems continue to grow after it was confirmed that Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a hamstring tear.
Van der Vaart suffered the injury in his left leg in last weekend’s 5-1 home defeat by Manchester City and he will now miss a stretch of games that includes the Europa League game against Shamrock Rovers on September 29th at White Hart Lane.
The injury has been diagnosed as a hamstring tear after an MRI scan and is he is not expected to return until the middle of October.
That means he will also miss the Premier League games against Wolves, Liverpool, Wigan and the home north London derby against Arsenal.
He will also miss Spurs’ opening Europa League game with PAOK Salonika.
