Wembley chiefs have been forced to postpone one warm-up event and put off a proposed England women's friendly at the new stadium after a further delay for the troubled venue.
However, stadium officials are adamant they remain firmly on course to officially open for the FA Cup final on May 19th.
Stadium builders Multiplex have yet to hand over the keys and as a result a 'community day' to show 60,000 local residents around the venue has been put back a fortnight from March 3rd to March 17th.
That has effectively ended any chance of an England v Scotland
women's international that had been pencilled in for March 11th,
but there could still be another warm-up event involving 60,000
people for an England Under-21 game on
March 24th.
Wembley managing director Alex Horne said: "We still remain on track to host the 2007 FA Cup final but the FA will only announce the 2007 Cup final at Wembley once the stadium has been granted its general safety certificate."
Multiplex have refused to comment on the reason they have yet to hand over the keys, but referred to last week's statement which confirmed Wembley National Stadium Limited began their training and familiarisation exercises in the venue at the start of the month.
