West Ham have hijacked Charlton's attempts to sign England goalkeeper Robert Green after agreeing a deal with Norwich.
The Championship club yesterday confirmed they were in negotiations with Charlton over the possible transfer of Green, who is currently recovering from a torn groin muscle which ruled him out of the World Cup.
However, the 26-year-old now appears to be bound for Upton Park, and joining up with former Canaries team-mate and England new-boy Dean Ashton, after a fee believed to be worth up to £2million was agreed with the Hammers.
The move is subject to Green agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
Green has made 241 league and cup appearances for Norwich after coming through the youth system at Carrow Road.
