HOW will current changing attitudes on ecology and environmental awareness affect golf clubs in Ireland will be one of the key- note subjects to come under discussion at the GCSAI's (Golf Superintendents Association of Ireland) fifth annual course management conference which will be held in the Grand Hotel, Malahide, Co Dublin tomorrow and Thursday.

Ecology and environmental issues will be addressed on Thursday and the speakers include Dr Paul Rieke, a professor from Michigan State University, well known world-wide for his research work on golf course management, Dr Tom Curtis of the Department of Parks and Wild- life, Pat Suttle from the National Botanic Gardens and David Stubbs, head of the Ecology Unit, European Golf Association. "We have a line-up of speakers of great distinction and it is an unique opportunity to hear at first hand how environmental matters and problems might be approached and what restrictions clubs are likely to face in the future," said Ian Ritchie, president of the GCSAI and links superintendent at Portmarnock..
