Major Sponsor, owned by Belfast bookmakers Sean and Brian Graham, can come out best in an intriguing rematch with Crazy Horse in the feature Hennessy Cognac Special Series Final at Kelso today.

George Moore's hurdler has shown progressive form this season, winning three of his five starts and finishing runner-up in the other two.

At Ayr in December the seven-year-old showed himself to be on the upgrade when failing by two and a half lengths to concede 7 lb to Crazy Horse.

Two impressive victories followed at Catterick and Newcastle. Last time, however, he was brushed aside by Barton at Doncaster but as his trainer commented: "He was put in his place last time but he was put in his place by a good horse."

The unbeaten Barton is favourite for the Royal & SunAlliance Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival so it was no disgrace for Major Sponsor to finish second to such a high-class performer.

Major Sponsor enjoys a 4lb pull with Crazy Horse at Kelso and allied with that horse's tendency to hang under pressure the Middleham runner may just have the edge and is napped to exact his revenge in this £20,000 added novice hurdle.

Moore can complete a double with Scotmail Lad in the Ship Hotel, Eyemouth Handicap Hurdle over an extended 22 furlongs.

This progressive stayer won twice on heavy going over two and a half miles before finishing a well-beaten fifth of six behind the smart Tonoco in a Grade Two event over an inadequate two miles at Wetherby last time.

But now with more favourable underfoot conditions and over a more suitable trip Scotmail Lad can regain the winning thread.

Feels Like Gold can gain a well-deserved success in the Norman Dalgetty Chase over three miles and a furlong after his game third behind Hollybank Buck last time.
