The Briton, runner-up last year in an astonishing rookie season in which he lost out by a point to Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen in the final race, said he was more determined and hungry than ever.
"I honestly feel stronger," he said after the MP4-23 car had been rolled out at the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart, Germany.
"I feel great right now. I've done a lot of really good preparation already, way before the first test even, and I just believe that it's a fresh start for us all, turning over a new leaf," added Hamilton. "I can't wait to get back into the car and I'm extremely excited about the first race."
AMERICAN FOOTBALL/Chargers to face Colts:The San Diego Chargers overcame a dull first-half performance with a sparkling final 30 minutes to beat the Tennessee Titans 17-6 on Sunday to complete the NFL's opening round of play-offs.
The victory, which extended San Diego's winning streak to seven in a row, lifted the Chargers (12-5) to a play-off clash next Sunday in Indianapolis against the Colts.
The other AFC divisional-round play-off will have the undefeated New England Patriots (16-0) playing hosts to the Jacksonville Jaguars (12-5) on Saturday.
The NFC semi-finals of the Super Bowl tournament will have the Seattle Seahawks (11-6) travelling to play the Green Bay Packers (13-3) on Saturday, and the Dallas Cowboys (13-3) taking on the visiting New York Giants (11-6) on Sunday.
BASEBALL/Clemens sues over drug claim:Pitching star Roger Clemens has sued his former trainer for making false and defamatory statements about his alleged steroid use that was chronicled by Major League Baseball's Mitchell Report.
The lawsuit, filed in state court in Texas, said Brian McNamee's claims that he repeatedly injected Clemens with steroids and human growth hormone (HGH) are not true and exposed Clemens to "public hatred, contempt, ridicule and financial injury".
The lawsuit, which seeks an unspecified amount of damages, also claims McNamee was threatened with jail if he failed to link Clemens and steroid use.
Nine pages of former US Senator George Mitchell's report into the use of performance enhancing drugs detailed McNamee's testimony that he had injected Clemens with steroids and HGH from 1998 to 2001.
