Connacht Colleges SFC Semi-finals: St Gerald's Castlebar 1-9 St Colman's Claremorris 1-6 St Gerald's College, Castlebar, qualified for the provincial final after victory over St Colman's, Claremorris, at Flanagan Park, Ballinrobe, yesterday.St Colman's midfielder Kevin Costello emerged as the dominant figure as the first half progressed and his goal in the 16th minute saw the game tilt towards the Claremorris school.
That dominance was to falter in the 22nd minute when Costello was sent off, yet his side went in at half-time leading by 1-4 to 0-3.
St Gerald's were back on level terms by the 38th minute, and one minute later Kieran Hopkins scored a goal, which effectively killed off the St Colman's challenge.
