St Kieran's 1-8 Castlecomer CC 0-6:Late points from Liam Blanchfield and James Maher saw St Kieran's College past Castlecomer CS and through to the Leinster colleges senior A hurling final.

The local rivals gave their all in a hard-fought game in Freshford on Saturday, Comer forcing their way back into the game when Conor Delaney rifled over a 50th minute 65 to leave two between the sides (1-5 to 0-6).

Kieran’s nerves were settled through an Eoin Gough point, before they increased the winning margin in the closing stages.

Castlecomer opened well but once Vincent Teehan plundered an eighth-minute goal Kieran’s were never headed again and at half-time led 1-3 to 0-2.
