LEINSTER SCHOOLS FOOTBALL FINAL: St Mary's, Edenderry 1-5 Good Counsel 1-4: THE SCARCITY of scores did not detract from an absorbing decider at Dr Cullen Park, Carlow on Saturday as St Mary's Secondary School from Edenderry claimed their first provincial title at this grade with a dramatic one-point victory over the New Ross side.

It took a splendid fisted 58th-minute goal from St Mary’s influential centre forward Anton Sullivan for the Offaly school to claim the Leinster crown.

In a fine team performance for the new champions, with full back Mark Young emerging with the man of the match honours after a superb display.
