St Mary's, Edenderry 1-12 St Jarlath's, Tuam 1-6:WITH THE county seniors ailing, Offaly football is taking hope from the fortunes of underage teams and Saturday's win at Pearse Park was an encouraging afternoon.

At the interval Edenderry led by 0-11 to 1-2.

Shane Walsh did net a 24th minute goal for Jarlath’s, but Edenderry responded by kicking four in a row before the break.

Then within seconds of the restart Edenderry’s Mark Nolan was fouled in the square and Daniel Flynn drilled the penalty to the back of the Jarlath’s net.

In the remaining minutes Jarlath’s outscored Mary’s by four points to one. A solid Edenderry outfit stayed defiant to earn a place in Saturday week’s All-Ireland decider at Croke Park.
