St Mary's 1-10 GMIT 2-5St Mary's College, Belfast, prevailed at Pearse Stadium yesterday despite a late GMIT rally. St Mary's led 0-7 to 1-2 at half-time with Mark Donnelly causing Galway all sorts of bother.
GMIT hit back after 10 minutes with Aidan Kilcoyne scoring a goal. The Belfast side finished the half strongly with three points from Conal Martin, Leo Meenan and Ryan Keenan.
St Mary's struck a goal after 35 minutes through Ryan Keenan to open up a five-point lead. St Mary's added points from Meenan and Keenan and they led by 1-10 to 1-3. Ger Heneghan goaled in stoppage time for GMIT but it was too late.
