St Mary's, Edenderry 2-6 Ard Scoil na Trionide 0-4:REFEREE SEÁN Carroll had to get both managers to speak to their teams after ugly scenes before the start of this Leinster Colleges senior football A game in Edenderry yesterday as four players were yellow-carded before the throw-in.
The tension remained once the action started until Carroll lost patience and sent off Ard Scoil na Trionóide’s (Athy) David O’Toole after four minutes. Two soft goals from Ryan Caffrey, in the 14th minute, and Mark Nolan, on the stroke of half-time, saw St Mary’s, Edenderry, lead 2-5 to 0-2 at half-time.
Two points, coupled with the dismissal of home corner back Philip Foy in the 35th minute, gave Athy hope at the start of the second half but they failed to score again.
