St Mel's Longford ...12 Castlecomer CS ...0St Mel's, Longford scored a try in either half to claim the Leinster Schools' Junior Development Cup at North Kildare yesterday.

They dominated for most of the opening half and took the lead when flanker Ciaran Maguire touched down shortly before half time to give the winners a 5-0 interval lead.
Castlecomer rallied in the second half and Leon Brennan had a "try" disallowed for a technical infringement early in the second half.
Alan Madden scored at the end of a fine run late in the second half and Peter Foy kicked an excellent conversion despite the strong breeze and the difficult angle.
Castlecomer dominated for long periods and were unlucky not to score despite winning a succession of penalties on the St Mel's line.
