Bray Wanderers 0 St Patrick's Ath 3:ST PATRICK'S Athletic made it four wins in a row to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season with a comfortable victory over the bottom-of-the-table side at the Carlisle Grounds last night.
An early Stephen Paisley goal followed by a double strike by Mark Quigley were enough to keep Johnny McDonnell's team in control against a Bray side still looking for their first goal.
The home side were first to threaten when midfielder Mark Duggan had a long-range effort just over the top after good approach work by strikers John Mulroy and Paddy Kavanagh.
And they might have grabbed the lead on 22 minutes when a free by Alan Cawley on the right was powerfully headed down by defender Kevin Doherty in front of goal. Somehow the defence managed to scramble the ball off the line with goalkeeper Brendan Clarke beaten.
The Inchicore men at last came to life when Quigley tested goalkeeper Chris O'Connor with a snap, long-range effort after Gary O'Neill had created the chance.
They took the lead on 24 minutes when a Keith Fahey corner on the right allowed defender Paisley get in a glancing header from eight yards.
O'Neill fired wide just before the interval, and Gary Dempsey had one effort deflected for a corner as the visitors began to enjoy territorial advantage.
The alert O'Connor came to the home side's rescue early in the second half when he got down to save from Damien Lynch and Alan Kirby in quick succession.
St Patrick's then stretched their lead on 63 minutes after a neat interchange between Fahey and O'Neill on the right to set up Quigley to fire home at the far post.
And Quigley was on target in the 89th minute with a header after a cross from Kirby on the left.
