Leinster Colleges SFC/ St Patrick's 1-10 Coláiste Mhuire 1-9: St Patrick's, Navan, survived the blow of losing influential midfielder Shane O'Rourke who retired injured in the closing stages, to advance to the last four of at Páirc Tailteann yesterday.
The home side had some anxious moments as their Mullingar opponents put in a storming finish. But late points from Joe Kenny and Owen Price were not enough to save the visitors.
O'Rourke had brought off some spectacular catches and kicked three points in in the first half. After 29 minutes a long free from him was not held by goalkeeper Philip Shaw and Brian Sheridan finished to the net give St Pat's a 1-7 to 0-6 interval lead.
Twelve minutes after the restart Coláiste Mhuire's Conor Lynam scored a goal from a penalty kick. Scores were scarce from then to the end but two points from Sheridan kept the Navan side ahead.

A tremendous second-half performance saw Dublin dethrone the Leinster Vocational Schools' football title holders Kildare, 2-9 to 1-9, at Terenure VEC grounds yesterday. Trailing by 0-1 to 0-5, Dublin finished strongly, scoring 2-4 in the final quarter.
