Starlights ... 0-13 Duffry Rovers ... 1-6 Starlights overcame 14-man Duffry Rovers to lift the Wexford county senior football championship title following a thrilling replay at Wexford Park.

When a Ger Coleman 36th-minute goal put 14-man Duffry into a 1-6 to 0-5 lead it was going to take something special from the Starlights but they turned in a magnificent final quarter, led by the excellent Michael Donohoe, to fashion a four-point victory.

The opening 30 minutes centred around the dramatic sending-off of Duffry Rovers full forward JJ Doyle eight minutes before the break.
