SIGERSON CUP FIRST ROUND DCU 0-11 Cork IT 0-8THE SURE finishing of Dean Rock proved to be the difference for DCU yesterday as the son of ex- Dublin hero, Barney, kicked six points, three of them from play, in an impressive personal display.
DCU trailed by a point early in the second half and had to scrap all the way for the spoils.
The cutting edge Rock provided and the sterling defending of men like James McCarthy, Johnny Cooper, Kieran Gavin and Philly McMahon saw them prevail.
Dublin forward Eoghan O’Gara, was sent off for a second yellow card with 10 minutes to play but late points from Rock and Cooper made the win safe.
