THE Wexford captain Martin Storey has been named Personality of the Month in the National Irish Bank award scheme

THE Wexford captain Martin Storey has been named Personality of the Month in the National Irish Bank award scheme. Storey has played a prominent part in Wexford's passage to the All Ireland final against Limerick their first final for 19 years.

A regular member of the Wexford team for more than 10 years, Storey is one of the outstanding modern forwards, and has played some of the best hurling of his career for his club Oulart The Ballagh, the Wexford county champions for the past two years.

He was awarded an All Star honour in 1993 at right half forward, and played a major part in Wexford's wins over Dublin, Kilkenny and Offaly in this year's Leinster championship and again against Galway in the All Ireland semi final.

He shares top scoring honours for Wexford with Tom Dempsey. Storey has 15 points to his credit while Dempsey has scored 1-12.
