The Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) are reluctant to fuel the debate over which gear athletes will wear at this year's Olympic Games in Sydney (Asics versus Adidas). And the probability is that the AAI will not take the Olympic Council of Ireland to the High Court in order to resolve the issue. Given the embarrassment caused to Sonia O'Sullivan in that tunnel incident in Atlanta where she was forced to strip and change into different running gear, both sides are keen to sort it out with the AAI hoping that a compromise can be reached.
