After their exertions at the intervarsity tournament in Jordanstown during the week it's back to league duty for the college sides this weekend, and none faces a more testing tie than Chilean Cup beaten finalists UCD who play Leinster Senior A leaders Old Alexandra at Milltown.

The students, though, should go in to the game in confident form, if a little tired, after winning two and drawing one of their last three league matches, a run that has lifted them to fifth on the table.

Evidence of the depth of young talent in their squad was provided with the naming of the Leinster under-21 panel during the week which included no less than seven UCD players - Jenny Osborne, an Irish senior panellist, Katherine Little, Ciara O'Brien and Lucy Cotter (all Irish under-21s), Bebhin Sparks (Irish under-18), Hilda Maguire and Aimee Byrne.

Hermes, who beat the students 4-1 in their first match since promotion from Senior B, are now the only Senior A side with an unbeaten record after Old Alexandra's 1-1 draw with Trinity last weekend. They are unlikely to be threatened by Muckross at Belfield tomorrow. Third-placed Loreto play Genesis at Beaufort, while Railway Union and Glenanne will seek their first wins of the season away to Trinity and Pembroke Wanderers, respectively. A 5-1 win over Coleraine on Tuesday night kept Pegasus on top of the Ulster section one table but Portadown, who have a game in hand, are just two points adrift after their 5-0 victory over Randalstown on Wednesday. Pegasus play Ards in Belfast tomorrow, while Portadown are away to Ballymoney.

UCC, Ballymoney's opponents in the second round of the Irish Senior Cup, will hope to put the disappointment of failing to reach the semi-finals of the Chilean Cup behind them when they play Belvedere tomorrow, while the University of Limerick, who reached the last four in Jordanstown, travel to Bandon.
