Limerick 0-11 Leitrim 0-9:Substitute Paul Kinnerk put over a superb point to clinch a win for Limerick against Leitrim at the Gaelic Grounds yesterday.

It had been a tense final quarter for Limerick who were four points in front with 15 minutes to go, but Leitrim wasted enough chances to have won the game.

Limerick suffered a double blow before kick-off when forwards Ger Collins and Ian Ryan had to withdraw. In their absence Eoghan OConnor took over the free taking and he put over five of the points and two more from play.

Leitrim, backed by the strong breeze, led by 0-5 to 0-4 at the interval with only two players from each side, Emlyn Mulligan and Paul Brennan for the visitors and O’Connor and James O’Meara for Limerick getting the scores.
