Leading scorer Davor Suker of Croatia grabbed his six goals from a mere 11 shots on target while Italy's Christian Vieri and Argentina's Gabriel Batistuta both scored five times from 12 shots on target.

Suker was also offside more than any other player, being blown up 16 times in seven games. Vieri was caught off-side 14 times in his five matches. France finished as the best team scoring record with 15 goals from 83 attempts on target while Brazil's 14 came from 47 shots or headers on target. France also had the best defensive record, conceding just two goals in seven games, compared to Paraguay's two in four games.
