Shelbourne 1 Cork C 2:VINNY SULLIVAN scored twice as Cork heaped more heartbreak on Shelbourne at Tolka Park to earn their first away points of the season.

Sullivan struck the winner on 83 minutes, heading Tadhg Purcell’s whipped cross from the left past Paul Skinner. That was harsh on Shelbourne who had dominated the second half having been second best in the first, getting a stunning equaliser two minutes in.

Anto Murphy’s cross from the right fell on the far side of the box for Paddy Kavanagh, whose left-foot volley Cork goalkeeper Mark McNulty could only help into his own net.

Missing the steadying influence of the suspended Stephen Paisley, Shelbourne’s suspect defending cost them on 20 minutes. Purcell threaded the ball through for the run of Sullivan, who swept his shot to the net for City’s for away strike of the season.
