Drogheda U 3 Dundalk 2:A CRACKING Louth derby saw Drogheda come from two goals down to win this one with virtually the last kick of the match when substitute John Sullivan was on the end of a Philip Hand cross to fire home.
Dundalk, who were on fire from the off, hit the front after five minutes when Mark Griffin blasted his shot to the roof of the net.
The visitors, despite, their lowly league position stunned their neighbours again after 25 minutes and it was Griffin once more who applied the finish after some very poor defending. Having looked out of sorts completely Drogheda pulled a goal back just past the half-hour mark when Peter Hynes found space on the edge of to box before tucking the ball in the bottom corner past Peter Cherrie.
Drogheda were the better side in the second half and they came close to levelling on a couple of occasions, with a couple of Tiarnan Mulvenna efforts cleared from the line.
With time almost up Derek Prendergast sent a wonderful cross in from the right which Hynes headed to the net for the equaliser and what appeared to be a share of the spoils until Sullivan won it in dramatic fashion late on.
