CONNACHT SF A SEMI-FINALS: Summerhill Coll, Sligo 3-7 St Muredach's, Ballina 0-11:SUMMERHILL COLLEGE booked their place in the Connacht Colleges Senior A football championship final with this victory over St Muredach's, Ballina, after extra-time at Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry, yesterday. The sides finished normal time level on 2-3 to 0-9 after Summerhill had held an interval lead of 1-3 to 0-3.
Substitute Niall McManus was impressive for the Sligo college, scoring two goals in a game that was in the balance up to the end of extra-time. A player from each side was sent off in stoppage time at the end of extra-time.
St Muredach’s played impressively but were unable to get through for the all-important goal.
