Racing Naas previewAscot might be hogging the limelight but Naas stages its own milestone tonight with a first Group race run at the track. The Group Three Noblesse Stakes has attracted a field of eight including two cross-channel raiders, Desert Royalty and Summitville.
The latter brings top level form to the contest with placed efforts last year in the Epsom Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks as well as some confidence from the James Given stable.
"Good to firm ground is ideal. Anytime she's run on anything other than good to firm she has never come close to showing her potential," Given said yesterday.
That would appear to give Summitville a valid excuse for a third to Crimson Palace in the Middleton Stakes.
That British-trained filly looks a better bet than Desert Royalty and of the home team Leonor Fini, a Listed runner-up last time, could be the main danger to Summitville.
Symboli West was plunged into Stakes action here on his last start after winning his debut at Navan and didn't come to terms with Osterhase. He runs off a mark of 93 in the six furlong handicap and may be worth another go.
