SUNDAY'S WELL outscored UCC by five tries to one and eventually won 31-19 but were never entirely comfortable until the last quarter of their Cork Charity Cup semi-final at Model Farm Road last night.

UCC competed vigorously at various stages of the match but could never match Sunday's Well when they got going sporadically.

John O'Mahony kicked UCC into an early lead but Sunday's Well hit back with tries by Brian Roche and Fintan Whelan before O'Mahony added a second penalty.

The out-half was also on target twice in the second half but tries by Greg Tuohy (two) and Niall Murphy and two conversions from Richard Daly and another from Roche kept Sunday's Well firmly in control. Brian Ring scored a consolation try for the students and O'Mahony converted.
