The last scratch cup of the season resulted in a good day for members of the Sutton club at the annual "Ryder Cup" event at Mount Temple on Sunday. Three Sutton members took their place on the podium with the main honours going to Mark Collins in the AIB-sponsored event.

Collins shot 111 for the 27 holes event over the testing Mount Temple course to win by two shots from local player Kenneth Buckley with another Sutton player, Mark Coates taking third place with 114. Dara Kealy, a five handicapper from Ballinasloe took the nett with 1101/2 from Sutton's Ryan Hannon, who was just a half a shot away in second place.
