THEATREWORLD was last night emerging as the probable mount for Charlie Swan in the £60,000 Ladbroke Hurdle at Leopardstown on Saturday.
Swan is set to partner the gelding in a schooling session at trainer Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle base today.
"If all goes well Swan is likely to ride Theatreworld on Saturday. He would switch to King of Kerry if Theatreworld was an absentee," said a spokesman for O'Brien.
The top-weight Urubande, also trained by O'Brien, is expected to sidestep the event. This would result in Theatreworld becoming the new topweight with 11st 10lbs.
Khayrawani came in for support for the race yesterday and was cut half a point by the sponsors to 4 to 1 (from 9 to 2).
His trainer Christy Roche has a double interest in the limited handicap hurdle as his wife, Noeleen, is the breeder of the British raider Penny A Day.
The unbeaten Penny A Day, 8 to 1 with Ladbrokes, joins Express Gift and Executive Design in a three-pronged challenge from Saltburn-based Mary Reveley.
Express Gift was the subject of support yesterday, being cut to 12 to 1 from 14s by the sponsors, while another British contender Master Tribe, trained by Jenny Pitman, was chopped to 20 to 1 from 335.
