EQUESTRIAN:Ireland have been drawn second of eight to jump in this afternoon's French super league Nations' Cup at La Baule where the team won last year.
Bidding to repeat that success, Team Ireland Equestrian’s showjumping manager Robert Splaine has once again nominated Shane Sweetnam to jump first with Amaretto Darco.
The US-based Cork man will be followed by Jessica Kuerten (Vincente), Cian O’Connor (Blue Loyd) and Denis Lynch (Lantinus) at the event.
Forty-nine horses have been declared for Sunday’s leg of the TRM National Grand Prix League at Barnadown.
Over the weekend, the Co Wexford venue also hosts the second round of this year’s Irish Sport Horse Studbook show jumping series for five, six and seven-year-old Irish-bred horses.
A massive entry of 332 horses/ponies is listed for Sunday’s one-day event at Kilmanahan, Co Kilkenny.
