Away from the crash and bang of the live gigs, there's also some afternoon diversion on the Saturday and Sunday with the Heineken Green Energy Seminars, where a bunch of talking music heads sit down to debate the issues of the day in the Temple Bar Music Centre.
On Saturday, May 1st, at 2 p.m., the topic is Success On The International Stage and a group of panellists including Boyzone manager Louis Walsh, Sawdoctors' manager Ollie Jennings, A-House manager John Carroll and Alan McEvoy from The Cranberries camp will be talking about everything you need to know about breaking your band on the international stage. The moderator for the talk is music publisher Johnny Lappin.
At 2 p.m. the next day, the topic under discussion is The Road To International Success which looks at how record companies, music publishers and copyright societies all interact to push bands internationally. Speakers include Olan McGowan who works in A&R at Sony Ireland, Martin Byrne from Friction Publicity, Eamon Shackelton from IMRO and Thomas Black who works in A&R at EMI. The moderator for the talk is Jackie Hayden.
